Some recently great concerts occurred in the Udine area, such as Iggy Pop, Simple Minds, Tindersticks, Alice Cooper and Iron Maiden, perhaps THE greatest heavy metal band around (a notch higher than Metallica)!

President Giorgio Napolitano in Udine, July 14th, 2010
Italy’s highly respected President, Giorgio Napolitano (let us just say much more than our current Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi!), paid Udine a quick ceremonial visit. He met with the mayor, Furio Honsell, and other local dignitaries, and then proceeded to visit an art exhibit in Udine’s quaint castle. Even the babies came out to see him (all pics by M. Rimati)!
