Italy’s highly respected President, Giorgio Napolitano (let us just say much more than our current Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi!), paid Udine a quick ceremonial visit. He met with the mayor, Furio Honsell, and other local dignitaries, and then proceeded to visit an art exhibit in Udine’s quaint castle. Even the babies came out to see him (all pics by M. Rimati)!
A blog on a wonderful little town, Udine, and a wonderful little region of Italy, Friuli Venezia Giulia, which is still a wee bit unknown to the rest of the world!

Comina air show June 26-27, 2010 Pordenone
The Comina
airshow, the largest air show in Italy for historical planes, was held in the Comina airbase (founded in 1910) near the town of Pordenone (some 40 kms from Udine). It’s also next to the Aviano airbase which is mostly populated by American personnel.
The temperatures were in the 30s (Celsius) yesterday, so for some, working was NOT certainly the call of the day. And yes, even the cows were seen ready to fly (all pics by M. Rimati!
